BOOK TALK-BRAIN JACK

Brain Jack

By Brian Falkner

Technology is wonderful-isn’t it? Teen hacker, Sam Wilson must have a neuro headset. Neuro headsets have replaced computer keyboards. Internet at the speed of thought! However, as he becomes familiar with the new technology, he is terrified when he realizes that if he can hack into anything on the computer, he can hack into someone’s brain (and control their mind) if the mind, or brain is linked to the computer system. Could consciousness itself be hijacked? A person’s memory could be erased, or their whole brain fried like a computer hard drive. If this power got into the wrong hands, evil could control the whole world. When Sam is hired to work in the nation’s cyberdefense network he has to keep this from happening, but has evil already taken control of the brains of those he works for and with? What will Sam have to do to make things right and give the country or the whole world back their own brains?
